Why TGirls didn't do Sparkle but still continue to shine

Firstly, we have an apology to make.

We do apologise to the faithful who visit the contest daily to participate, we did indeed miss the deadline for judging the monthly winner at the end of July. We do apologise for this and for any disappointment it may have caused. Unfortunately the only way we can keep the contest running is by keeping the business running, and to do that takes a lot of hard work and effort from all the team here at Tgirls Home Shopping, sometimes it takes every minute we have to spare. We can assure you that the voting has not been stopped in any way, and that votes will be counted and a winner announced at the end of August as usual. We hope that all participants will continue to support the contest and can accept this apology, we are very sorry to all involved who were disappointed in July.

Now for a little insider gossip! At the beginning of the year, the staff here were planning to take part in the community celebration known as Sparkle, we were hoping to take part in the social aspect, give out a few freebies, and maybe spread news of our ever growing product range by word of mouth, but most of all, with the event co-inciding with the anniversary of opening TGirls Home Shopping, we were looking forward to getting the staff out for a well deserved couple of days off and a bit of a knees up. Morale was raised, and there was a good energy surrounding the upcoming event. However.....

We were contacted by a member of the organising team, who informed us that in order to have any kind of a "Sparkle recognised" business presence, we would need to forward a donation (a rather large one) either in the way of finance, or free gifts (which we were intending to do, but as a business in our own right rather than under the guidance of Sparkle). We were a little put out by this as it goes against one of the fundamental reasons why we opened a shop in the first place:

Firstly, in order to fund this hefty donation we would need to raise prices, not something we were prepared to do.

Secondly, if the advertising benefits would have been as great as the Sparkle organisers were trying to lead us to believe, there is no way we could have coped with giving our current high level of personal service to every customer who visits our store. This is something we pride ourselves on, its the reason why we do this.

There are so many stores who claim to be there to care for the vulnerable, but scratch the surface and you will soon see how transparent they are, in fact some of the bully tactics we have encountered from other similar stores are downright nasty! It is hard, and it does take a special kind of person to offer the service we provide. The hours are long, the client base is complex, the competition is ruthless and the boss is a perfectionist! Our goal, however, remains the same and although we don't shout about it, we have had many quiet compliments this past year, and that is all the proof we nee to tell us we are on the right track to achieving our goal this year, next year and for many years to come.

We would like, on behalf of all the staff, to thank our new and returning customers for their feedback, good or bad, for helping us to stay on the right track and know our customers needs. We would also like to extend big thanks to our many suppliers, without whom none of this would be possible. We have built up a very good rapport with our major suppliers and this has helped us enormously in being able to provide our customers with more choice than ever before.

To summarise, we might not be perfect, we might not be endorsed by the "big names" in the industry or be part of the "in" crowd, but we do our best to the Nth degree, our customers keep coming back, and that's all we need to be assured that we can't be getting it all that wrong!

Thanks for reading, and if you did go to Sparkle, we hope you had a great time, we are sure it is a wonderful event for the communtiy, we just don't like the politics involved.

Environmental Policy:

We know that our customers are some of the most selfless and considerate people you could ever wish to meet and we have decided to apply an environmental policy to sales. There will be no more paper invoicing sent with orders unless a customer specifically requests an invoice, returning customer discount voucher codes will also be sent by email once orders are dispatched. We are hoping that customers will approve of this decision, however if you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us before ordering.

Contest Results:

We would like to apologise for any disruption caused to the January results due to the suspension of our poll server, we kept trying to establish a connection with them, but sadly the company seem to have dissolved. We would like to extend our best wishes to their employees and wish them well for the future. We have nominated a new poll server now, and the contest is fully functional once more. There is one minor change, we are now unable to clear votes from the polls so votes will not restart at 0 each month. The contest rules have not changed and we will continue to keep a monthly score tally here on the blog and nominate a princess every month based on their scores for the month.

We have noticed a sudden surge in voters as the end of the month draws in. If you are one of our contestants, we urge you to encourage all your friends to vote for you in the next few days, scores are pretty close so far, and anyone could win! Click here to see all the entrants so far.

Our annual queen (to be crowned in December 2007) with the most votes overall will win a whopping 35% discount, and judging by the sudden influx in voters, the stage is still wide open as to who will become Miss TGirls Home International Queen 2007. You can enter at any time, but remember, the sooner you enter, the better, the more votes you will get.

Voting statistics will be published at the end of the month, including and overall tally for the past two months.

Entry is free, and you don't even have to be a registered customer to take part and win the prizes.

Just a quick announcement for now...

We are now officially an international transvestite clothing store! Our home page, help centre and help pages, policies, customer service, faq, gender information and even the TGirls beauty contest entry page are all available in the following languages:

German
French
Spanish
Russian.

We are hoping to add Italian as another language for these pages in the near future (of course if you nag us to on the guestbook, we will get it done much sooner!).

There will be a new stock update in the next few days, some departures and some new arrivals, the cosmetics have proved very popular, and thank you all for your feedback.

N.B. The polls are now fixed, as are the RSS feeds, so be sure to get your entries or votes in. Our competition gets a lot of visitors each day, not everyone votes, but maybe your picture will change that! Apologies to those whose votes weren't counted before, the fault affected all polls, but has now been fixed, and I am assured, will not happen again.

Hello To You All,

We have updated our news page, a petition has been forwarded to downing street to introduce specific homophobia and transphobia hate crime legislation, please see our news page for details and a link to sign the petition, which reads thus:

In remembering the 40th anniversary of the Decriminalisation of Homosexuality and those who have been murdered and had their lives destroyed by homophobia, including David Morley and Jodi Dubrowski, we the undersigned urge the Prime Minister to introduce specific homophobia and transphobia hate crime legislation. We believe that the law should be re-written now to target incitement of hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity.

We strongly urge you to sign this, no matter how little faith you may have in the British Justice System, you have a voice and a right to use it! We may be a small and insignificant community compared even to those who consider themselves to be a minority, but if we all get together, we will begin at least to raise awareness, and eventually acceptance.

And now to something a little more lighthearted...
Are you still watching that ticker???? It has a strange habit of spilling the beans! The funny thing is, I am already hearing rumours of what is going to be the new feature at TGirls Home Shopping, and I designed it!!!
