Why TGirls didn't do Sparkle but still continue to shine

Firstly, we have an apology to make.

We do apologise to the faithful who visit the contest daily to participate, we did indeed miss the deadline for judging the monthly winner at the end of July. We do apologise for this and for any disappointment it may have caused. Unfortunately the only way we can keep the contest running is by keeping the business running, and to do that takes a lot of hard work and effort from all the team here at Tgirls Home Shopping, sometimes it takes every minute we have to spare. We can assure you that the voting has not been stopped in any way, and that votes will be counted and a winner announced at the end of August as usual. We hope that all participants will continue to support the contest and can accept this apology, we are very sorry to all involved who were disappointed in July.

Now for a little insider gossip! At the beginning of the year, the staff here were planning to take part in the community celebration known as Sparkle, we were hoping to take part in the social aspect, give out a few freebies, and maybe spread news of our ever growing product range by word of mouth, but most of all, with the event co-inciding with the anniversary of opening TGirls Home Shopping, we were looking forward to getting the staff out for a well deserved couple of days off and a bit of a knees up. Morale was raised, and there was a good energy surrounding the upcoming event. However.....

We were contacted by a member of the organising team, who informed us that in order to have any kind of a "Sparkle recognised" business presence, we would need to forward a donation (a rather large one) either in the way of finance, or free gifts (which we were intending to do, but as a business in our own right rather than under the guidance of Sparkle). We were a little put out by this as it goes against one of the fundamental reasons why we opened a shop in the first place:

Firstly, in order to fund this hefty donation we would need to raise prices, not something we were prepared to do.

Secondly, if the advertising benefits would have been as great as the Sparkle organisers were trying to lead us to believe, there is no way we could have coped with giving our current high level of personal service to every customer who visits our store. This is something we pride ourselves on, its the reason why we do this.

There are so many stores who claim to be there to care for the vulnerable, but scratch the surface and you will soon see how transparent they are, in fact some of the bully tactics we have encountered from other similar stores are downright nasty! It is hard, and it does take a special kind of person to offer the service we provide. The hours are long, the client base is complex, the competition is ruthless and the boss is a perfectionist! Our goal, however, remains the same and although we don't shout about it, we have had many quiet compliments this past year, and that is all the proof we nee to tell us we are on the right track to achieving our goal this year, next year and for many years to come.

We would like, on behalf of all the staff, to thank our new and returning customers for their feedback, good or bad, for helping us to stay on the right track and know our customers needs. We would also like to extend big thanks to our many suppliers, without whom none of this would be possible. We have built up a very good rapport with our major suppliers and this has helped us enormously in being able to provide our customers with more choice than ever before.

To summarise, we might not be perfect, we might not be endorsed by the "big names" in the industry or be part of the "in" crowd, but we do our best to the Nth degree, our customers keep coming back, and that's all we need to be assured that we can't be getting it all that wrong!
